Meet the family behind The Malay Courtyard.
It began with Pak Awie
Pak Awie began cooking on the streets of Malaysia in the 1970s. He moved to the UK in 1997, bringing those recipes and traditions with him.
His work took him to the Malaysian Hall Canteen, Pak Awie Restaurant and Melur. His son, Shubli, carries that family connection into our kitchen in Stotfold.
Meet chef Shubli
Shubli grew up around Malaysian kitchens and food markets. He brings that experience to the Courtyard.
Co-Head Chef Farris, from Kerala, brings his own South Indian cooking background to the team.
